The outside parts of a computer are the monitor, speaker, memory, modem, mouse, keyboard, CD-ROM, CD-ROM drive, laser printer, and disk drive. Another outside part of the computer was the floppy disk . But the floppy disk is not used anymore. The monitor is a device that shows the signals of a computer. The speaker lets you hear audio from the computer. A memory in a computer stores all the data and information. The modem is a device is that modulates an analog carrier to encode information and figures out transmitted information. A mouse is not an actual mouse it is a hand-operated device that controls the coordinates of the cursor on your computer. The keyboard is a data input device for computers. A CD-ROM is a compact disc used as a read-only optical memory device. The CD-ROM drive is a drive that is connected to a computer and on which a CD-ROM can be "played". A laser printer is a printer, linked to a computer, producing good-quality printed material by using a laser to form a pattern of static electricity. The disk drive is a device that allows a computer to read from and write to computer disks. Finally for those of you who are wondering what a floppy disk is it is a flexible removable magnetic disk, typically encased in a hard plastic, used for storing data. So it technically is like a flash drive but square shaped. These are all of the outside parts of a computer.
